Piano Lessons	Piano Instruction Jan Bordeleau offers piano instruction after school on Tuesdays for children 5 and up. Please contact Jan if you would like to sign your child up for classes. Email Jan
Chess Club	Chess Club Due to a strong interest in chess in our upper elementary class this year, the students started their own chess club and tournament. Students are encouraged to pursue projects that interest them, and here is an idea that caught fire!
	Robotics Robotics takes many forms at GVS. Our youngest students meet weekly to experiment with building and programming. In 2002 we competed for the first time in the First Lego League State competition and placed 15th in New Hampshire. Our most senior students have competed in the RoboCup Jr. competitions in Montreal, Seattle (where the Green Valley Team took two 1st place awards), Pittsburgh, Italy and Australia.
Mathcounts Mathcounts is a math competition for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. Mathcounts is a great program for students to gain flexibility with math, as well as thinking "outside the box". Students meet weekly to prepare for the competition in early February. Good luck team! Click here to visit the Mathcounts website.	Sample Mathcounts Problems 1. A sphere of radius 2 cm is completely inside a sphere of radius 5 cm. What percent of the volume of the larger sphere is occupied by the volume of the smaller sphere? Express your answer to the nearest tenth. 2. How many different ways can a three-person committee be formed from the members of a seven-member club? 3. Cards are numbered from 1 to 100. One card is removed and the values on the other 99 are added. The resulting sum is a multiple of 77. What number was on the card that was removed?
After Care Program for Students-- We have before and after school care available to students. Our hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
